The Best Non-Gambling Activities in Las Vegas

Although gambling and playing cards can be a huge selling point to visiting Vegas, there’s so much more to this city than its casinos and bars.  From museums to hiking trails to sightseeing and nature exploration, it’s easy to fall in love with this city.

These are the best non-gambling activities you can get up to in Vegas, and why they’re such winners.

Visit the Mob Museum

Although you might not want to gamble at the moment, learning about the history of the Mob and gambling in the city can be extremely interesting.  This museum walks you through the history of organized crime in the United States and explains how illegal activities are part of what helped build Las Vegas into the incredible city it is now.

This is a highly-rated museum, and people love to see the gritty underside of the city!  This can be a lot of fun to visit.

Take a Hike in Red Rock Canyon

When you’re ready to get some fresh air and stop looking at Las Vegas apartments for rent, it’s time to visit Red Rock Canyon!  This National Conservation Area is stunning to look at, with the bright red dirt and sand reaching up to touch the brilliant blue Nevada skies.

Just a short drive outside of the city, this gives you a space to breathe and relax while exploring over thirteen miles of the canyon.  Make sure to look at the weather and conditions ahead of time, and try not to go alone.  Hiking is safer when you do it with friends.,

Take in the Sights on the High Roller

Las Vegas is an incredible city, and there’s no better way to take in the views than to go on the High Roller.  This 550-foot tall, 520-foot diameter Ferris wheel allows you to rise as high as possible to take in all the beautiful views.

This is the second-largest Ferris wheel in the world, losing its crown as the tallest in 2021.  If you want to feel breathless looking out at the strip, this is the way to go.

Explore Fremont Street

Sometimes a little retail therapy is all you need.  Instead of throwing away money into gambling and drinking, why not stop and trade cash for actual goods?  Fremont Street is a fun strip mall that offers countless national and unique shops to explore.  You’ll want to leave with a few fun trinkets and items.

Enjoy Beauty in the Bellagio Conservatory

Botanical gardens might not be what you think of when you consider Vegas, but the beautiful floral displays at the Bellagio will blow you away.  These intricately sculpted designs are a work of art and change from season to season.  Getting to explore and learn about the many different plants and flowers can be the exact break you need after a couple of hours in the casinos.

Las Vegas is Incredible, Even Without Gambling!

Las Vegas may be seen as a gambling and betting capital, but it’s so much more than that!  If you’re ready for a great time without having to bet the house, it’s time to check out one of these excursions!
